AKO Group Unveils AGM Battery Portfolio Engineered for Next-Generation Vehicles

Automotive and industrial conglomerate AKO Group has launched its new AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery portfolio under the AKO Prestige Akü, Turbo Akü, and Petlas Akü brand names. Manufactured in Europe and engineered specifically for Start-Stop vehicles and high-draw automotive electrical architectures, the product family delivers extended cycle durability, high vibration resistance, and cold cranking power ranging from 680 A up to 950 A (CCA).

The rapid electrification of modern vehicles, coupled with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and Start-Stop protocols, subjects vehicle batteries to continuous, repetitive micro-cycles of discharge and charge throughout the driving profile. These electrical loads exceed the cycling tolerance of conventional flooded lead-acid batteries, necessitating the deployment of AGM technology.

Manufactured in Europe to precise OEM specifications, the AKO Group AGM series integrates advanced Matrix Press (Punch) grid stamping and Kaizen Tunnel continuous quality platforms. Utilizing ultra-thin micro-fiber glass mats to immobilize the liquid acid electrolyte, the design optimizes charge acceptance and prevents internal stratification under severe road vibrations.

Technical Performance Metrics: 60 Ah to 105 Ah

The structural and electrical specifications of the lineup include:

  • Absorbent Glass Mat Construction: Fully sealed, spill-proof architecture with bonded fiberglass separators that deliver enhanced charge acceptance and high deep-cycle resilience.

  • Capacity and Cold Cranking Amperage (CCA): The portfolio spans from 60 Ah (680 A CCA) suitable for compact passenger vehicles up to 105 Ah (950 A CCA) designed for premium-segment vehicles and large-displacement engines requiring heavy cranking current.

  • Commercial Positioning: Commercialized under AKO Prestige, Turbo, and Petlas brand flags, backed by a comprehensive two-year manufacturer warranty.
