TURKÇİMENTO Warns CBAM Could Hit Turkish Cement Exports

TURKÇİMENTO stated that regulatory amendments published by the European Commission on October 17, 2025, and implementing rules that entered into force in December 2025, could significantly increase costs for Turkish cement exports. While the sector reports actual emissions of around 0.88 tCO₂ per ton of grey cement clinker, the default value applied under EU rules is 1.551 tCO₂ per ton, creating a substantial cost gap.
