Operating under Posta ve Telgraf Teşkilatı Anonim Şirketi (PTT AŞ), affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, PTT Stamp Museum attracted significant public interest in the first three months of 2026.
Positioned as Türkiye’s first and only stamp museum, the institution offers visitors a comprehensive journey through the history of communication, combining historical and cultural heritage with philately.
More Than 10,000 Postage Stamps on Display
Opened to visitors on October 22, 2013 under the slogan “Collections Witnessing History,” PTT Stamp Museum appeals not only to stamp collectors but also to visitors interested in history, culture, art and communication heritage.
The museum was established through the restoration of the historic Emlak and Eytam Bank building and is regarded among the notable stamp museums worldwide.
The collection features stamps issued from Türkiye’s first postage stamp, introduced into circulation in 1863, to the present day. These stamps are displayed in chronological and thematic order.
The museum also presents artist hand drawings, stamp sketches, proof print samples and rare pieces found exclusively in the museum’s collection.
Across its exhibition areas, PTT Stamp Museum displays more than 10,000 postage stamps. Since its opening through the end of 2025, the museum has welcomed approximately 675,000 visitors.
Postal, Telegraph and Communication Heritage Under One Roof
Beyond its philatelic collection, PTT Stamp Museum hosts a wide range of sections highlighting the history of postal and communication services.
The museum includes historical postal and communication objects, nostalgic postal carrier uniforms, telegraph machines, “PTT in the War of Independence,” “Letters from History,” the “100 Years Through Stamps” application, Children’s Club, Direct Personal Stamp Application and Museum Shop.
Through activities organized at the Children’s Club, younger generations are introduced to stamp collecting and letter-writing culture. The museum also offers visitors an interactive and educational museum experience.
Free Admission Seven Days a Week
PTT Stamp Museum can be visited free of charge seven days a week, except on religious and national holidays and official public holidays, between 09:00 and 17:00.
