Operating in the HoReCa tabletop solutions sector since 2014, Bonna continues to advance its sustainable manufacturing approach through R&D initiatives. Prepared under the leadership of the Bonna Sustainability Committee, the R&D application titled “Next-Generation Tableware Manufacturing Technology Sintered at Low Temperatures with High Waste Content” has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1832 Green Transformation in Industry 2025-3 Call.
The project targets reintroducing production-phase porcelain waste and end-of-life porcelain products back into the manufacturing cycle. Through this developed technology, Bonna aims to manufacture next-generation porcelain featuring high recycled waste ratios with optimized firing temperatures and durations to ensure energy-efficient operations.
Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Focus
The project is structured to deliver targeted environmental and industrial benefits:
Raw Material Conservation: Minimizing virgin raw material and natural resource consumption,
Energy Optimization: Reducing carbon footprint and overall energy usage by lowering sintering temperatures and cycles,
Economic Value Creation: Reclaiming post-industrial and end-of-life porcelain waste to reinforce circular economic integration within manufacturing.
