Since 1965, Organik Kimya has been producing polymer emulsions and today stands as a strong player in the global chemical industry, reaching more than 100 countries with its products. With its high-capacity facilities and sustainability-driven approach, the company offers innovative solutions that create value across a wide range of sectors, including paints, construction, textiles, industrial applications, and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
We spoke with Kemal Ersudaş, Paint Solutions Division Director at Organik Kimya, about the transformation of the industry, environmental responsibility, and the company’s strategic outlook for the future.
First of all, could you briefly introduce yourself to our readers? How has your career journey evolved?
I was born in Bursa in 1983. After graduating from the Business Administration Department at Bilgi University, I started my career in the chemical industry at Ege Kimya in 2004. There, I had the opportunity to work in various functions such as export, sales, and logistics, gaining insight into both the commercial and operational sides of the business, while also completing my MBA.
In 2010, I joined the Organik Kimya family, where I have held roles including Regional Sales Manager, Export Manager, and Division Manager. Since 2015, I have been serving as the Paint Solutions Division Director.
Contributing to the development of the industry has always been a priority for me. In this context, I previously served as a Board Member of the Turkish Paint Manufacturers Association (BOSAD) and continue to take an active role in its activities.
I am married and a father of one daughter. I am also actively involved in triathlon. The discipline, strategic thinking, resilience, and motivation I gain from this sport play a significant role in helping me stay focused on long-term goals and remain resilient in the face of challenges in my professional life.

What are Organik Kimya’s targets in both the Turkish and global markets?
As Organik Kimya, we are the largest polymer producer in Türkiye in terms of capacity. We have maintained our leadership in the market for years through our strong technological infrastructure, extensive product portfolio, and the trust-based relationships we have built with our customers.
On a global scale, we currently export to more than 80 countries. Within the framework of our 2030 vision, we aim to grow not only in our existing markets but also in new geographies. As a company that manufactures at world standards, we are a preferred supplier on the international stage.
At a time when many of our global competitors are shutting down production facilities or operating at low efficiency, our decision to commission a new reactor investment in Kemerburgaz clearly demonstrates our strategic vision and strong positioning.
What environmentally friendly practices have you implemented as part of your sustainability vision?
Sustainability lies at the core of Organik Kimya’s business model. To reduce our environmental impact, we implement concrete actions at every stage, from production to product development. In energy management, we increase efficiency through smart manufacturing systems, while also reducing our carbon footprint by generating electricity from renewable sources through our solar energy investments.
In water management, we achieve significant annual savings through recovery projects and process optimizations. In waste management, we adopt a circular economy approach and continuously increase our recycling rates.
Our Kemerburgaz facility holds a Zero Waste certificate, and within our product portfolio, we offer water-based acrylic emulsions with a low carbon footprint, as well as bio-based, recycled, and bio-circular solutions. In doing so, we also support our customers in achieving their own sustainability goals.
As transparently shared in our Sustainability Report, all these practices form the foundation of the long-term value we create not only for the environment but also for our customers, employees, and communities.

How are digitalization and artificial intelligence transforming the sector? How is Organik Kimya progressing in this area?
Digitalization is no longer a choice in our industry, it is a necessity. At Organik Kimya, we are among the companies that embraced this transformation early on. We have integrated Industry 4.0 applications not only into our production processes but across our entire value chain, from logistics to quality control.
Through AI-powered data analytics, we optimize our energy consumption, while smart sensors and automation systems enhance our production efficiency. With digital quality control and R&D solutions, we are able to develop faster, more environmentally friendly products tailored to our customers’ needs.
In short, we see digitalization and artificial intelligence not merely as technological investments, but as integral components of our sustainability vision. This approach allows us to both reduce our environmental impact and deliver more reliable and sustainable solutions to our customers.
