Castrol and Komatsu Forge Strategic Partnership

Leading lubricant specialist Castrol and Marubeni Dağıtım ve Servis A.Ş.—the exclusive Turkish distributor of heavy machinery manufacturer Komatsu—have executed a three-year strategic partnership agreement. Under the alliance, Komatsu-branded heavy-duty lubricants will be engineered, validated, and manufactured locally, leveraging the technical infrastructure and testing facilities of Castrol’s Gemlik Production Plant and Technology Center.

Designed to maximize component reliability, uptime, and fuel economy across heavy construction, open-pit mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors, the partnership unites joint technical formulation, field trials, and OEM compliance certifications into an integrated local manufacturing model.

Castrol’s Gemlik complex—representing one of only eight manufacturing assets operated by the company across Europe and Africa, currently exporting to 24 countries—will act as the engineering hub, tailoring hydraulic, driveline, and engine fluid chemistries to Komatsu's strict global engineering tolerances.

Engineered Resilience for Extreme Field Duty

Key technical and operational pillars of the cooperation:

  • Collaborative Product Engineering: Blending formulations precisely calibrated to withstand the continuous mechanical shear, shock loading, and thermal variance experienced by heavy earthmoving platforms.

  • After-Sales Support Across Core Fleets: Commercialized and distributed through Marubeni Dağıtım ve Servis, the localized Komatsu lubricant family will support excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, and rigid dump trucks to lower total operating costs.

  • Three-Year Operational Scope: Establishing an unbroken quality assurance protocol covering continuous batch verification, packaging, and supply resilience.
