MG International Took Part as the Scent Experience Sponsor
Organized by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D), the 11th Istanbul Carbon Summit was held at Istanbul Technical University’s Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on May 4-5, 2026.
Held under the theme “Decarbonization, Carbon Markets, and Climate Technologies,” the summit brought together representatives from business, academia, the public sector, and civil society around the shared goal of a sustainable future.
International fragrance manufacturer MG International Fragrance Company participated in the event as the “Scent Experience Sponsor.” The company stood out at the summit with its approach that connects sustainability with scent, textiles, and consumer experience.
Sustainability Meets Sensory Experience
At the summit, where topics such as carbon management, sustainable production, and climate technologies were discussed, companies from different sectors shared their innovative sustainability solutions.
MG International Fragrance Company drew attention with its perspective on the future of textile and fragrance technologies. The company presented an approach that does not limit sustainability to production processes, but evaluates it together with product performance, consumer expectations, and sensory experience.
Bülent Konca: “Sustainability Is a Strategic Transformation Area”
MG International Deputy General Manager Bülent Konca took part as a speaker at the summit and shared his views on the textile sector, carbon management, and changing consumer expectations.
Konca stated that sustainability can no longer be seen only as an environmental responsibility. According to Konca, sustainability has become a strategic transformation area that directly shapes innovation, product development, and consumer experience.
Emphasizing that Turkish consumers particularly value cleanliness, freshness, and long-lasting scent in textile products, Konca noted that scents that create a sense of trust, freshness, and wellbeing help establish a strong connection with consumers.
Textile and Fragrance Technologies Are Becoming Complementary Fields
Bülent Konca stated that textiles and fragrances have now become two complementary fields. He emphasized that scent is no longer merely an additional element in textile products, but a strategic component that strengthens the overall product experience.
Thanks to advanced fragrance technologies, textile products now offer not only a sense of cleanliness, but also a sensory experience that continues throughout the day.
Innovative systems that interact with fabrics create long-lasting effects, positioning scent as an important element that brings together performance and experience in the textile industry.
Sustainability Should Also Be Considered Through Emotional Connection
Konca underlined that companies need to develop a holistic approach focused on innovation, technology, and sustainability in order to create value for the future.
He emphasized that sustainability should be addressed not only in production processes, but also in the emotional bond consumers build with products. This approach shows that fragrance technologies create a strong bridge between sustainable production, product performance, and consumer experience.
