Bayer has announced a senior leadership transition within its pharmaceuticals division. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, André Santiago Silva has been appointed Country Group Head of Bayer Pharmaceuticals for Turkey and Iran, effective September 1, 2026. Silva takes over the role from Colin Tyrer, who is retiring following a long career at Bayer.
In his new role, Silva will oversee pharmaceuticals operations across Turkey and Iran, leading Bayer’s scientific and innovation-driven initiatives. His focus will encompass strengthening strategic collaborations with healthcare professionals, public institutions, and industry stakeholders to improve patient access and health outcomes.
Over Two Decades of Global Executive Experience
Silva holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Lisbon. His career includes leadership roles across multiple geographies:
International Footprint: Extensive executive background across Portugal, Germany, and the Nordic markets.
Previous Leadership Role: Served as Country Manager for Bayer Denmark and Norway, directing business transformation and enhancing patient access to innovative therapeutics.
Global Strategy: Previously operated as Global Brand Director at Bayer, managing global brand strategies for core pharmaceutical portfolios.
