BASF to Build New Electronic Materials Site in Nanjing

BASF has signed an investment agreement with the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area to construct a new electronic materials production facility inside the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Materials High-Tech Park. Slated for commercial startup by the end of 2028, the site expands BASF’s specialized manufacturing footprint for semiconductor process chemicals and functional formulated solutions across China.

Executed under BASF's "local-for-local" operational framework, the plant is designed to bolster regional supply chain resilience and deliver high-purity chemicals to regional chipmakers. Leveraging BASF's established industrial footprint in Nanjing, the development creates an integrated engineering and manufacturing platform for close technical collaboration across the local microelectronics value chain.
