Polinas Released 2025 Sustainability Report: Energy Intensity Improved by 14 Percent

Polinas, a leading flexible packaging subsidiary of Yıldız Holding, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report. Verified by an independent limited assurance statement and structured in alignment with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the report highlights a 14% contraction in the company's energy intensity alongside the re-integration of over 19,000 tons of recycled materials into production lines.

At a time when circular economy directives and strict decarbonization mandates dictate supply chain eligibility inside the industrial packaging domain, Polinas has consolidated its sustainability indices. The manufacturer expanded its self-consumption renewable infrastructure during the reporting period, generating 3.5 million kWh of solar energy and scaling its aggregated solar power plant (SPP) footprint to 5.745 kWp.

Backed by an infrastructure yielding an annual generation capacity of 8.2 million kWh, the firm effectively managed its operational energy footprint, clipping its greenhouse gas (GHG) emission rates by 5.3% year-on-year. Evaluated across environmental, labor, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement vectors by international ratings agency EcoVadis, Polinas secured a "Gold Medal," validating its market positioning. The company—a member of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and CEFLEX—is driving workflows to shave off 42% of its Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 25% of its Scope 3 emissions by 2030, charting a course toward its 2050 net-zero horizon.

Circular Loop, Employee Experience, and Artificial Intelligence Deployment

The report highlights distinct operational outputs and targets across industrial recycling parameters, human capital fields, and digital evolution tracks:

  • Industrial Material Re-cycling: Processing scrap generated within production operations, the firm reclaimed 19,337 tons of raw materials back into manufacturing streams, driving down overall plastic container consumption. Product engineering shifts prioritized mono-material film technologies and certified input sourcing.

  • Human-Centric Workspace: Steering its corporate employee satisfaction metric to 94%, the brand captured the Happy Place to Work "Exceptional Employee Experience" certification. A signatory of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), Polinas leverages its "Women@Work" platform to scale its female workforce volume by 43% over the next five years against a 2024 baseline.

  • Algorithmic Productivity: Launching its corporate "Artificial Intelligence Manifesto," the entity deployed AI-supported applications across manufacturing, predictive maintenance, human resources, and advanced data analytics to augment workforce technical capabilities.

Holistic Value Building Across Business Models

Reviewing the impact of sustainability performance parameters on global market readiness and corporate scaling, Polinas CEO Faik Önaldı shared the following institutional analysis:

In the current era, sustainability shapes the business models and competitiveness of companies holistically, along with their environmental performance. As Polinas, we see sustainability as an inseparable part of our way of doing business. We focus on creating long-term value through our renewable energy investments, resource efficiency practices, digital transformation projects, and our human-centric approach that centers our employees. While moving forward in line with our science-based targets, we aim to achieve sustainable growth together with all our stakeholders.
