On the occasion of World Hygiene Day, Sapro’s R&D and Regulatory Affairs Director Evrim Şenyapar highlighted that personal hygiene awareness is a key factor in protecting public health, particularly during periods of increased infection risk. She underlined that hand contact is a major route for the transmission of infections and stated that washing hands with soap for at least 20 seconds significantly reduces the risk of disease spread.
Hand Hygiene Breaks the Chain of Transmission
Şenyapar pointed out that many illnesses, including influenza, hepatitis, and intestinal parasites, can be transmitted through hand contact. “The most effective way to break the chain of transmission is to strengthen individual hygiene habits,” she said. In environments where soap and water are not available, she added, wet wipes can help maintain personal hygiene.
Product Content and Label Information Matter
Emphasizing the importance of checking product content when choosing wet wipes, Şenyapar warned that products manufactured under unsuitable conditions may cause skin irritation such as cracks, swelling, or redness. She also noted that products not tested in laboratories may lead to long-term health issues, advising consumers to review storage conditions, shelf life, and manufacturer information on product packaging.
“We Prioritize Skin Health”
Şenyapar stated that Sapro designs and manufactures its products in line with the European Cosmetics Regulation, drawing attention to the company’s strong focus on R&D. According to her, more than 100 parameters are analyzed in Sapro’s laboratories to ensure product safety and quality. She explained that the company offers products free from parabens, SLS, SLES, dyes, and alcohol for sensitive and allergy-prone skin, while also providing alcohol-based options for situations requiring higher hygiene standards.
Şenyapar added that skin-compatible raw materials are prioritized in production, manufacturing is carried out in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and products undergo dermatological testing before reaching consumers. She concluded by stating that Sapro will continue working to promote hygiene awareness for a healthier future.
