PPG Introduces One-Component Coatings for Marine Maintenance

Coatings manufacturer PPG has introduced its PPG ONE RANGE™ portfolio of five one-component marine coatings at the SMM 2026 maritime trade fair in Hamburg, Germany. Designed for onboard maintenance, the ready-to-use coatings eliminate component mixing, minimize material waste, and optimize vessel lifecycle management.

Formulated to reduce application complexity for crews at sea, the portfolio spans waterborne, alkyd, and polyurethane resin chemistries engineered for both interior and exterior shipboard surfaces.

The range complies with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions criteria and meets low flame spread maritime safety certifications, streamlining chemical storage and handling aboard vessels.

Complementary Tooling: PPG PowerPack

Alongside the coatings range, PPG previewed the PPG POWERPACK™, a portable, battery-powered application system designed to interface directly with the new product line. The tool enables operators to switch between roller and brush application modes within a single assembly, cutting equipment changeover downtime.

Ewout Bosman (Segment Director, Seastock, PPG Protective and Marine Coatings):

Coatings maintenance is essential for extending vessel lifecycles, but preparation and application can be time-consuming for crews managing operational responsibilities. With PPG One Range, we focused on eliminating mixing requirements and simplifying application to help crews complete projects more efficiently.

Kahina Ouchaou (Product Manager, PPG Protective and Marine Coatings):

The portfolio includes waterborne, alkyd, and polyurethane technologies for both interior and exterior maintenance. Products incorporate technologies supporting low-VOC compliance and low flame spread certification.
