Paintistanbul 2026: Turkish Paint Industry Sets Sights on Global Leadership

Announced at a press launch held at Çırağan Palace, Paintistanbul 2026 is preparing to bring together the $2.47 billion Turkish paint industry with over 400 exhibitors and more than 10,000 professionals in Istanbul.

The press launch for Paintistanbul, Eurasia’s largest exhibition for paint raw materials, construction chemicals, and adhesive technologies, took place at Çırağan Palace. Hosted by Kenan Baytaş, Chairman of the Paint Manufacturers Association (BOSAD), Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of CNG Group, and Hakan Ünel, Chairman of the Paintistanbul Exhibition and Congress Working Group, the event featured key industry evaluations and highlights regarding Paintistanbul 2026.

In his opening speech, Kenan Baytaş stated that the paint industry is among the strategic and leading sectors of the Turkish economy due to its production capacity, advanced technological infrastructure, and high added value. He noted that the sector plays a critical role in various fields from construction to automotive, and energy to maritime, serving as an indispensable part of modern life with both protective and aesthetic solutions.

BOSAD Chairman Baytaş: “Our Sector Has a Volume of 1 Million Tons”

Chairman Baytaş noted that BOSAD represents approximately 85% of the sector with over 130 members. He stated,

Paintistanbul, globally recognized for its participant and visitor numbers, establishes a significant trade and interaction bridge in the fields of paint, raw materials, and construction chemicals by bringing local and foreign companies together. We believe the fair will provide valuable contributions to our industry and the national economy again this year.

Sharing data on the Turkish paint industry, Baytaş recorded that the sector accounts for approximately 2% of the global market with a volume of around 1 million tons. Emphasizing that exports of paint and raw materials exceeding $1.5 billion as of 2025 clearly demonstrate the sector's international integration, Baytaş added: “We rank fifth in Europe in terms of production, following Germany, Spain, France, and Italy. Our goal is to climb higher in these rankings and reach a stronger position on a global scale.”

Kayalar: “Our Sector Has an Economic Magnitude of $2.47 Billion”

Speaking at the event, BOSAD Vice Chairman Tolga Kayalar emphasized that the global paint market is expected to reach approximately $198 billion by 2026. Highlighting that the Turkish paint sector is a major regional player, Kayalar said,

According to BOSAD 2024 data, the Turkish paint industry has a domestic market volume of approximately 926,000 tons and an economic magnitude of $2.47 billion. The gap between our production power and our value share in exports indicates our most concrete area for growth. The real goal is not just to produce more, but to create more value and carry that into exports.

Akçalı: “Our Sector Adapts Very Quickly to Global Regulations”

BOSAD Vice Chairman Akın Akçalı emphasized Turkey's advantages: “Many of the world’s largest paint manufacturers evaluate Turkey not just as a market but as a production and export hub. One of the strongest aspects of our sector is its ability to adapt very quickly to international regulations and changing standards.” Exhibition Committee Chairman Hakan Ünel also stated their intent to organize a productive and sustainable event followed closely in the international arena.

CNG Group Chairman Yaman: “Record Levels in Foreign Participation”

Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of CNG Group, stated that the fair has risen to become the second largest in Europe and the third largest in the world. Yaman continued:

Although we started with a goal of 350 participants, we have exceeded expectations with over 400 registrations from 35 different countries. We raised our foreign participation target from 35% to a record level of 46%. Our goal is to bring together over 10,000 sector professionals from 70 countries.
