Transformation into Art Meets Art Lovers in Its 5th Year
TEKA Türkiye’s “Transformation into Art” project, carried out continuously for five years, continues to turn waste materials into artworks through the creative interpretations of young artists.
The project first began in TEKA’s 30th year in Türkiye with short film works by three young directors, and later continued with young painters. This year, the project reaches its 5th edition with the participation of 10 young artists from different disciplines.
Curated by Hakan Kürklü, the project offers an aesthetic experience through changing materials and themes each year, while also inviting viewers to question their consumption habits and reflect on sustainability.
10 Young Artists Take Part This Year
The 5th-year collection of the “Transformation into Art” project features 10 young artists, including Maya Kırçicek, Fatih Şimşek, Yonca Karaarslan, Eren Kenar, Kerim Tıp, Nida Erdoğan, Kardelen Erken, Daniela Budişteanu, Ezgi Özkılıç, and Dilek Laçin.
With this year’s edition, the project has supported a total of 43 young artists. TEKA Türkiye aims to increase the visibility of young artists while bringing awareness of sustainable production and recycling to wider audiences through art.
Every Artwork Purchased Will Support TEGV Children
This year, the project also strengthens its social impact. Every artwork purchased from the collection will help provide qualified education support to children through the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye (TEGV).
In this respect, the project goes beyond a sustainability initiative that transforms waste materials into art and creates social value in the field of education.
Aydın Kuzaltı: “Sustainability Is a Social and Cultural Responsibility”
Aydın Kuzaltı, CEO of Midea Türkiye Region, expressed his satisfaction with the project reaching its 5th year and emphasized that sustainability is not only an environmental approach for TEKA.
Kuzaltı said:
We are pleased to carry out the 5th edition of our Transformation into Art project. For TEKA, a brand that has surpassed 100 years, sustainability is not only an environmental approach but also a social and cultural responsibility. Therefore, we believe in the importance of raising awareness about recycling and sustainability.
Kuzaltı also highlighted the project’s role in supporting young artists:
With this project, which we launched to raise awareness and support young artists, we have increased the number of artists we support to 43 as of this year. We are determined to increase this number further in the future.

The Project’s Social Impact Expands
Aydın Kuzaltı also noted that the project has gained a new social impact dimension this year through its collaboration with TEGV.
Kuzaltı stated:
This year, every artwork purchased within the Transformation into Art project will help bring qualified education support to children through the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye (TEGV). That is why we feel an even greater excitement. In the coming period, we aim to carry out new initiatives to increase the added value the project creates for society.
First Exhibition Opens on May 9 at GaleriFe
The first exhibition of this year’s “Transformation into Art” collection will meet art lovers at Istanbul GaleriFe on May 9.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience works that explore the concept of transformation from different perspectives. Through the reinterpretation of waste materials, the collection aims to offer both a visual and intellectual experience.
