Turkish Construction Sector Stands Out at IBS 2026
One of the most prestigious construction fairs in the United States, IBS 2026, took place in Orlando from February 17-19, welcoming over 70,000 visitors and more than 1,700 companies. The Turkish delegation represented the country with a 36 m² joint info stand, organized through the collaboration of İKMİB, İDDMİB, İMİB, and AKMİB. During the fair, the Turkish Trade Attaché in Miami, Ömer İnce, visited 22 Turkish companies with their own stands to extend his congratulations.
Notable Growth in U.S. Exports from Chemical Sub-Sectors
Exports to the U.S. from chemical sub-sectors supplying the construction industry showed significant growth. In 2025, paints, varnishes, inks, and preparations exports increased by 2.47% to reach $1.55 billion, while exports to the U.S. specifically grew 13.54% to $48.8 million.
In the adhesives, glues, and enzymes segment, overall exports rose 15.86% to $582.8 million, with U.S. exports increasing 36.11% to $21.9 million. These figures highlight the growing presence and competitiveness of Turkish manufacturers in the global market.
The U.S. Market Remains a Strategic Priority
İKMİB Chairman Adil Pelister emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S. market for the Turkish construction and chemical sectors:
“Participating under the ‘Turkish Construction Materials’ brand at prestigious events like IBS allows us to directly showcase our quality and sustainability vision to international buyers. We will continue working to increase our share in the U.S. market and develop long-term partnerships.”
These results underscore the Turkish construction sector’s expanding influence and competitive strength in the U.S., as well as the critical role of chemical sub-sectors in supporting it. IBS 2026 continues to be a key platform for engaging with international buyers and strengthening branding strategies.
