Kimpur Upgrades to EcoVadis Gold Medal

Kimpur has strengthened its ESG performance by upgrading from EcoVadis Silver to Gold. The company moved from the top 13% last year to the top 4% this year. Kimpur highlighted its climate roadmap, emissions reduction progress and workplace initiatives as key drivers behind the result.

Kimpur, which places sustainability at the core of its strategy, has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, upgrading from Silver thanks to its improved performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. After ranking in the top 13% of companies assessed globally last year, Kimpur advanced to the top 4% this year.

EcoVadis is one of the world’s most widely used sustainability rating platforms, evaluating more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries and over 250 industries based on criteria including the environment, ethics, human rights and sustainable supply chain management. Kimpur’s Gold Medal recognition further reinforces the company’s global commitment to sustainability.

Climate-Focused Strategy and Measurable Progress

Kimpur has identified climate-related risks and assessed them through scenario analyses, shaping its action plans under the company’s 2030 Climate Change Roadmap. Key environmental targets include reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity by 33%, lowering energy consumption intensity by 22%, and generating 25% of sales from its sustainable product portfolio by 2030.

In 2024, despite an 8% increase in production volume, total emissions rose by only 0.5%, while emissions intensity decreased by 6%. Over the same period, energy consumption intensity declined by 7%, and carbon footprint calculations were completed for 69% of the product portfolio. Kimpur also received approval for its application under the Eurostars program as part of its decarbonization efforts carried out with international partners.

Diversity, Inclusion and Employee Engagement

Kimpur also reported progress on the social pillar of sustainability. The share of women among white-collar employees and female representation on the board increased to 40%. In addition, the company’s score in the 2024 employee engagement survey conducted by Happy Place to Work rose to 83, marking a three-point improvement compared to the previous period.

Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca commented on the achievement:

“The EcoVadis Gold Medal shows that Kimpur has taken sustainability beyond a strategic priority and made it a fundamental part of our corporate culture. Moving from the top 13% last year to the top 4% this year is the result of our determination to improve both our environmental performance and social impact. For us, sustainability is not only a target but a responsibility we carry for future generations. I would like to thank all our employees and business partners who contributed to this success.”

Kimpur stated that it will continue to embed sustainability into its business practices, reduce environmental impacts, increase social contributions and maintain an ethical and transparent governance approach while supporting the sector through innovative solutions.
