New Volkswagen T-Roc Hits the Road with Continental Tires

Volkswagen’s new compact SUV model, the T-Roc, is set to hit the road with Continental tires. Under the partnership, Continental will offer summer, winter, and all-season tire options designed to meet different driving needs, combining energy efficiency, comfort, safety, and road grip performance.

Continental Named Tire Supplier for the New T-Roc

Continental, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has been selected as the main supplier for Volkswagen’s new compact SUV model, the T-Roc.

As part of the cooperation, Continental’s summer, winter, and all-season tire models in sizes ranging from 16 to 19 inches have received official approval for the new Volkswagen T-Roc.

The new T-Roc will be available with EcoContact 7 and EcoContact 7 S summer tires focused on energy efficiency and comfort, WinterContact TS 870 P for winter conditions, and AllSeasonContact 2 for drivers seeking balanced performance throughout the year.

EcoContact 7 Offers Energy Efficiency and Quiet Driving

Continental highlights driving efficiency, comfort, and low noise performance with its advanced tire technologies developed for the new T-Roc.

The special rubber compound and Smart Energy Casing technology used in the EcoContact 7 summer tire reduce internal friction and lower rolling resistance. New materials used in the casing, inner liner, and sidewalls further support this efficiency-focused design.

The aerodynamically optimized sidewall design also contributes to reduced energy consumption. Continental combines several technologies in this area, including the “aerodimple” structure inspired by golf balls. These small dimples on the tire sidewall help minimize air turbulence behind the tire, allowing the vehicle to consume less energy.

Silent Pattern Technology Enhances Comfort

The EcoContact 7’s Silent Pattern tread design was developed to reduce rolling noise.

Continental engineers optimized the spacing and angles of the tread blocks according to noise frequencies that occur especially at low speeds in urban driving. As a result, passengers benefit from a quieter and more comfortable driving experience, while external noise levels are also reduced.

For the new T-Roc, EcoContact 7 has been approved in 16, 17, and 18-inch sizes, while the sportier EcoContact 7 S is offered in 16, 17, and 19-inch options.

Alternatives for Winter and All-Season Conditions

For winter driving, Volkswagen recommends Continental’s WinterContact TS 870 P.

The tire’s tread design and innovative sipe structure provide strong grip on snow and ice. Its rubber compound maintains flexibility even at low temperatures, helping shorten braking distances and ensuring safe stopping performance in wet, cold, and snowy conditions.

For drivers who prefer to use a single tire set throughout the year, AllSeasonContact 2 stands out as the all-season option. Designed for year-round use, it offers balanced performance in both summer conditions and wet winter weather.
