Nestlé Türkiye Contributes 12,000 Saplings to Nature
Nestlé Türkiye expanded its “120,000 Acts of Kindness Movement,” launched as part of its 120th anniversary, with a new environment-focused initiative.
In cooperation with the Aegean Forest Foundation, the company created a memorial forest of 12,000 saplings in Susurluk, Balıkesir. As part of the reforestation initiative, 50 Nestlé volunteers participated in the field event, carrying out sapling planting and hoeing activities.
The project, shaped in line with Nestlé’s “Creating Shared Value” approach, brought together social benefit, environmental sustainability, and employee volunteering under one framework.
“120,000 Acts of Kindness Movement” Grows in the Field
Nestlé Türkiye’s “120,000 Acts of Kindness Movement,” launched to mark the company’s 120th year, is positioned as a multidimensional initiative designed to create lasting social and environmental impact.
The forest created in Susurluk stands out as one of the movement’s important environmental steps. The initiative aims to contribute to the region’s ecosystem and create a new habitat for nature.
Başak Ünal: “With Every Sapling, We Grow Our Belief in Tomorrow”
Başak Ünal, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Director at Nestlé Türkiye, stated that the company aims to turn kindness into measurable and lasting impact.
Ünal commented on the initiative:
Within this multidimensional kindness movement shaped by our vision, we collaborated with the Aegean Forest Foundation and, with the contribution of Nestlé Türkiye volunteers, brought 12,000 saplings to nature.
Highlighting the importance of coming together with employee volunteers and stakeholders around a shared goal, Ünal added:
With every sapling, we also grow our belief in tomorrow. Together, we will continue to leave stronger and more lasting marks for the future.
Aegean Forest Foundation Emphasizes Sustainability
Sırma Buğdaycı, Press and Public Relations Coordinator at the Aegean Forest Foundation, said the collaboration with Nestlé Türkiye in its 120th year offers a strong model in the field of sustainability.
Buğdaycı underlined that the event was not only a sapling planting activity, but also a reminder of shared responsibility toward nature and future generations:
Every sapling planted in the soil is, in fact, a hope left for the future, a promise made to nature, and a concrete expression of the responsibility we carry toward future generations.
Buğdaycı also emphasized that the saplings, as they grow over the years, will provide a habitat for countless living beings and that the impact of investments in nature continues for generations.
