IMCD Group has launched its new Technical Center in İstanbul Ataşehir, strengthening its innovation and formulation capabilities in Türkiye.

The facility consolidates the company’s previously separate Food & Nutrition, Beauty & Personal Care, and Coatings & Construction laboratories into a single, technically enhanced location. With the establishment of its first Pharmaceuticals Laboratory in Türkiye, IMCD has significantly expanded both its local and regional technical capabilities.

Pharmaceuticals Laboratory to Serve as a Regional Hub
One of the most significant additions to the new facility is the Pharmaceuticals Laboratory, established for the first time within IMCD Türkiye.
The laboratory will serve not only the Turkish market, but also act as a regional hub for the Middle East, Maghreb, Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa. It will bring together IMCD’s global knowledge base and local expertise to enable faster and more effective technical collaborations.
The laboratory will support formulation development for solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms. It will also provide comprehensive formulation support for the integration of active pharmaceutical ingredients into product development processes, enabling customers to receive support in more complex development projects.
All development activities will follow a risk-based approach aligned with internationally recognized guidelines. Analytical method development, a critical part of the product development process, will be carried out according to Quality by Design (QbD) principles to ensure robustness and reproducibility.
Beauty Studio Brings an Experience-Led Approach to Cosmetic Formulation
The Beauty & Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio within the new Technical Center will support creative and application-driven product development for the cosmetics industry.
The center brings together formulation expertise, creativity, and collaboration for the development of color cosmetics, skincare, sunscreens, haircare, and personal hygiene solutions. The Beauty Studio goes beyond the traditional laboratory model by offering brands an experience focused on ideation and product development together with IMCD experts.
Through this structure, brands can receive support from the earliest stages of a project across critical parameters such as texture, sensory experience, performance, and manufacturability. This helps accelerate the journey from concept to finished product and supports the development of multifunctional, market-ready formulations.
Food & Nutrition Laboratory Combines Global Trends with Technical Expertise
The Food & Nutrition Applications Laboratory at IMCD Türkiye Technical Center is designed to help manufacturers develop innovative food and beverage solutions.
Serving key segments including dairy, bakery, beverages, confectionery, meat, and savory applications, the laboratory focuses on optimizing taste, texture, nutritional value, and functionality.
The facility will also provide formulation development, pilot trials, and ready-to-consume prototype concepts, enabling manufacturers to access faster and more practical development support.
Coatings & Construction Laboratory Offers Applied Performance Support
The Coatings & Construction Laboratory provides technical and formulation support for decorative, industrial, and protective coatings, as well as wood and floor coatings.
The laboratory also supports ceramic adhesives, self-leveling screeds, and external thermal insulation composite systems. By bringing different areas of expertise under one roof, the center enables formulation development, performance testing, and applied validation processes to be carried out in line with real end-use conditions.
This structure will help customers evaluate product performance more effectively and develop solutions tailored to market needs.
