Humanis Launches a Meaningful Awareness Initiative for PAH
Humanis, one of the leading players in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, carried out a special awareness initiative in İzmir to draw attention to Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension as part of World PAH Day on May 5.
To raise public awareness of PAH, also known as high blood pressure in the lungs, the company illuminated Folkart Towers, one of İzmir’s prominent landmarks, with special lighting.
The initiative contributed to broader recognition of the disease while bringing the life-saving importance of early diagnosis back into focus.
Early Diagnosis Is Critically Important
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is a serious, progressive, and potentially life-threatening disease that affects the heart and lungs.
Because its symptoms can be confused with those of other conditions, PAH is often diagnosed late. This can significantly reduce patients’ quality of life and make the treatment process more challenging.
For this reason, symptoms such as shortness of breath, rapid fatigue, chest pain, fainting sensation, or palpitations should be evaluated carefully, and patients should consult specialists without delay.
A Serious Health Condition That Can Progress Silently
Although rare, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension can have severe effects. The disease is characterized by high pressure in the blood vessels of the heart and lungs.
If left untreated, PAH can lead to serious complications such as heart failure, making it an important condition not only for individual health but also for public health awareness.
Humanis’ lighting initiative stands out as an important step toward increasing the visibility of PAH and raising awareness about the disease.
