Borusan Program Receives Record Applications

Borusan Holding has announced the three projects selected for the 4th term of the Borusan Sustainable Benefit Program, launched under the motto “For the Benefit of All.” The program broke its own record this year with more than 500 applications, highlighting initiatives focused on wildlife protection, accessible sports experiences and digital resilience for older adults.

Borusan Holding has selected three new projects to support in the fourth term of the Borusan Sustainable Benefit Program, which was launched in 2022. This year, the program received 538 applications from 66 cities, marking its highest application volume to date.

Selected from among initiatives addressing climate action and the reduction of inequalities, the three projects will receive TRY 600,000 in grant support, along with needs analysis, business model development training, mentoring, visibility, project promotion and communication management support.

Climate Action, Accessibility and Digital Resilience Take the Spotlight

Carried out this year with the message “For the Benefit of All,” the program evaluated projects focusing on climate-resilient living spaces, protection of natural assets and biodiversity, local development, inclusive design, accessibility and equality in education.

The applicant profile also demonstrated the program’s interdisciplinary impact potential. Participants included teachers, civil society professionals, cooperatives, artists and academics.

Nursel Ölmez Ateş, Group President of People, Communications and Sustainability at Borusan Holding, said the record number of applications once again showed how strong the desire for solidarity and solution-building is within society. She noted that the selected projects focus on repairing the bond both with nature and among people through innovative approaches.

Three Projects Selected for Support

The first selected project is “Wildlife and Community Resilience Program After Mega Fires”, implemented by Natura Association. The project will focus on changes in wildlife habitat use and human-wildlife interactions in Muğla following major wildfires.

Using camera trap studies, habitat analyses and interviews with local stakeholders, the project aims to develop innovative conservation recommendations that strengthen ecological and community resilience.

The second project, “VolleyVoice Accessible Stands Project,” enables visually impaired fans to follow sports matches directly from the stands through live audio description. The initiative aims to create a more inclusive sports culture and transform accessible match experiences into a sustainable model.

The third project, “Master the Screen: Digital Resilience Program for Older Adults,” focuses on building digital skills and confidence among individuals aged 55 and above in İstanbul and Ankara. Through community-based workshops, the program will cover modules such as information literacy, digital safety and critical use, supporting older adults’ safer and more active participation in the digital world.

Selected Initiatives to Join a Wider Support Network

In addition to financial support, the selected projects will benefit from strategic guidance and capacity-building opportunities. Entrepreneurs will also gain access to the communication networks of Borusan and Impact Hub İstanbul, enabling them to reach wider audiences.
