A New Era at TARGEV: Erkan Zandar Elected Chairman of the Board

TARGEV’s Ordinary General Assembly was held at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations. At the General Assembly, Erkan Zandar was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board, while the foundation announced that its new term will focus on technology-based production, qualified workforce development, design-oriented product development, and projects that create added value in exports.

Erkan Zandar Era Begins at TARGEV

A new era has begun at the Türkiye Textile, Ready-to-Wear and Leather Industry, Technology and Design Research and Development Foundation (TARGEV). The foundation, which operates in areas where Türkiye has a competitive advantage, particularly textiles, ready-to-wear, and leather, held its Ordinary General Assembly at the Aegean Exporters’ Associations.

Following the approval of the work program and budget items, elections were held for the Board of Directors and the Board of Auditors. Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairman Muhammet Öztürk also attended the General Assembly.

The election was held with a single list prepared by Erkan Zandar, Board Member of the Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association. Zandar was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of TARGEV.

The new Board of Directors and Board of Auditors are expected to meet in the coming days to determine the distribution of duties and define the roadmap for new projects.

Education and R&D Activities to Gain Momentum

TARGEV Chairman Erkan Zandar stated that throughout its 32-year history, the foundation has organized training programs to develop qualified and experienced human resources for the textile, ready-to-wear, and leather sectors.

Emphasizing that they have taken over the Board with a young team, Zandar said education and R&D activities will continue to increase in the new term.

According to Zandar, TARGEV’s new priorities will focus on:

  • Supporting technology-based production processes

  • Expanding training activities for the textile, ready-to-wear, and leather sectors

  • Developing collaborations in technological product design

  • Strengthening international promotion of the sectors

  • Implementing projects that increase value-added exports

“We Will Work Like an Incubation Center”

Zandar underlined that TARGEV will not limit itself to training activities in the new period, but will also work as a project development center that directly contributes to sectoral progress.

Zandar said:

“We will carry out training activities on a company and sector basis. We will especially develop collaborations on technological product designs, which are needed in the textile, ready-to-wear, and leather sectors. We will work like an incubation center that launches new projects to increase value-added product exports and support the Aegean Exporters’ Associations in reaching their export targets.”
