Operating within Koç Holding, Otokar hosted its first high-level delegation at its Automecanica Mediaș plant in Romania following the completion of its acquisition. Romanian National Defense Minister Radu-Dinel Miruță and an accompanying delegation conducted an official visit to the facility.
During this first official visit following Automecanica S.A. Mediaș joining Otokar, details regarding the COBRA II project and the production processes of 4x4 tactical wheeled armored vehicles were presented to the delegation. Through this strategic investment, Otokar became the only company from Turkey manufacturing armored vehicles within European Union borders.
Project Status: 290 Vehicles Delivered
During the delegation's detailed inspection of the production lines, the current status of the 1,059-unit COBRA II procurement project carried out for the Ministry of National Defense of Romania was evaluated. It was emphasized that the project is progressing successfully according to schedule, with a total of 290 vehicles delivered to date.
