Türkiye’s first Chemical Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, GEBKİM OSB, has received the title of “Green OIZ (Green Organized Industrial Zone)” within the scope of the Green OIZ Certification Program, which is conducted by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) in accordance with the criteria determined by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology. With this certificate, GEBKİM OSB has assumed a leading role not only in industrial production but also in environmental sustainability and creating social benefit.
GEBKİM Organized Industrial Zone became entitled to receive the “Green OIZ” certificate by meeting all the required criteria within the Green OIZ Certification Program carried out by TSE. This certificate, obtained as a result of comprehensive evaluations conducted in areas such as energy and water efficiency, waste management, renewable energy use, and environmentally sensitive infrastructure investments, stands out as an important milestone in Türkiye’s sustainability journey in industry.
The Green OIZ Certification Program, established through the cooperation of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology and the World Bank, is granted following a rigorous process that takes into account economic, managerial, social and environmental criteria. The purpose of the program is to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy, increase environmental performance, ensure the efficient use of natural resources, and provide organized industrial zones with an advantage in international competition.
