The Plastics Industry Federation (PLASFED) carried out an intensive two-day program of engagements in Ankara, bringing together leading defense industry companies and key institutions representing the industrial and business community. As part of the program, visits were paid to defense industry leaders TUSAŞ, HAVELSAN, and ASELSAN, along with umbrella organizations TOBB, ASO, and ATO. Discussions addressed potential areas of cooperation across industry, technology, and trade.

Strategic Cooperation Agenda with the Defense Industry
The program, led by PLASFED Chairman Ömer Karadeniz, highlighted efforts to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and enhance the national production ecosystem. High value-added manufacturing, R&D-driven growth, and resilient supply chains featured prominently on the agenda. Following the visits, PLASFED presented commemorative plaques to the host institutions’ management teams.
Karadeniz Defense Industry Is One of Türkiye’s Flagship Sectors
Commenting on the visits, Karadeniz underlined the critical role of the defense industry in Türkiye’s industrial and technological development. He noted that TUSAŞ, HAVELSAN, and ASELSAN exemplify the country’s engineering strength, R&D capabilities, and industrial vision. Karadeniz also emphasized that engagement with industrial organizations and umbrella institutions contributes to stronger inter-sector cooperation and supports the sustainable development of the manufacturing ecosystem.

Program Opened with a Visit to Anıtkabir
The PLASFED delegation began its Ankara program with a visit to Anıtkabir. During the visit, Karadeniz laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, observed a moment of silence, and signed the Anıtkabir Special Book, reaffirming PLASFED’s commitment to advancing production and industry in line with the Republic’s modernization and development goals.
The PLASFED delegation also included Mehmet Hakan Atalay, Chairman of BAPSİD, Yunus Tarla, Chairman of KAYPİDER, Ömer Özkul, Chairman of DEPSİAD, along with numerous board members and delegates.
