Osman Aksoy Elected President of DEİK Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council

Hayat Holding Secretary General Osman Aksoy has been elected President of the DEİK Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council. In addition, Aksoy will serve as Coordinator Chair of the Africa Regional Business Councils, overseeing coordination across Türkiye’s Africa-focused trade platforms.

The Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) held its Elective General Assembly for the 2025–2027 term on January 17, 2026, in Istanbul, with strong participation. During the assembly, new presidents and executive boards were elected for DEİK’s country-based, sectoral, and special-purpose business councils.

Elected President of the Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council

Following the elections, Hayat Holding Secretary General Osman Aksoy was appointed President of the DEİK Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council, which represents one of Türkiye’s most important trade partnerships on the African continent. In his new role, Aksoy is expected to lead efforts aimed at further deepening economic relations between the two countries.

Coordination of Africa Business Councils Entrusted to Aksoy

After the completion of the election process, the presidents of the Africa Regional Business Councils, representing 48 business councils, convened for their first meeting. As a result of the evaluations held during the meeting, Osman Aksoy was elected Coordinator Chair of the Africa Regional Business Councils. With this responsibility, Aksoy will oversee coordination among business councils across Africa and support Türkiye’s trade diplomacy efforts on the continent.

Continued Role in DEİK’s Senior Management

Osman Aksoy previously served three terms as President of the DEİK Türkiye–Iran Business Council. Building on this regional experience, he will continue to serve as a Member of the DEİK Board of Directors and the DEİK Executive Board in the new term, maintaining an active role in the organization’s strategic decision-making processes.

Expanded Responsibilities in Europe and South Asia

Aksoy’s responsibilities in the new term extend beyond Africa. In elections held on January 17, he was also elected to the Executive Boards of the DEİK Türkiye–Romania and DEİK Türkiye–Pakistan Business Councils. Through these roles, Aksoy is expected to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation and increasing trade volumes in Türkiye’s priority markets across Europe and South Asia.
