Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş have formed a strategic partnership to develop new-generation sandwich panel solutions that support environmentally friendly production. These sustainable systems, introduced at Kimpur’s booth during the Putech Eurasia Fair held from November 26–28, represent not only technological innovation but also a responsible approach toward the environment.
By combining Kimpur’s strong R&D capabilities, backed by exports to over 60 countries across five continents, and Aluform Pekintaş’s expertise as one of Turkey’s leading sandwich panel manufacturers, the partnership has resulted in the development of two distinct environmentally friendly sandwich panel systems. This collaboration integrates up-to-date technologies and industrial knowledge to advance the construction of high-performance, sustainable buildings.
Kimpur utilizes bio-based raw materials and next-generation blowing agents in the production of its polyurethane systems. These systems aim to reduce the environmental impact of Aluform Pekintaş’s manufacturing processes while improving sustainability performance throughout the product lifecycle. The goal is to promote greener practices within the industry, support the development of regulation-compliant construction solutions and contribute to cities' long-term sustainability goals.
Eco-Friendly Sandwich Panels for Sustainable Cities
The sandwich panel systems developed through the Kimpur–Aluform partnership represent a new era in sustainable and energy-efficient construction. These systems enable higher performance with lower environmental impact, supporting both industrial and construction sectors.
The first of the two systems is the KIMrigid PIR Sandwich Panel System, which includes approximately 10% bio-based content. The system contains bio-polyols derived from natural oil polyols (NOP) extracted through various methods from vegetable oils or synthesized from biopolymers, offering a reduced environmental footprint. The panel produced with this system is introduced to the market as the “Alu Bio Secret Fix Façade Panel”. It reduces carbon emissions by 5%, offering an end-to-end solution that minimizes environmental impact from production to end use.
The second system, also part of the KIMrigid PIR product line, is designed to work with new-generation blowing agents and offers 20% higher thermal insulation performance. It also allows for the production of panels that are 20% thinner, contributing to lighter and more sustainable building designs while reducing the environmental footprint of cities. Thanks to its advanced formulation, this system also delivers a 7% reduction in carbon emissions during the production phase. The resulting panel is marketed as the “Aluform Xcore Secret Fix Façade Panel.”
Both panel systems are designed to create positive impacts across their entire lifecycle and to help companies meet their sustainability goals. The innovative solutions developed jointly by Kimpur and Aluform Pekintaş stand as strong examples of eco-conscious innovation and corporate sustainability commitment.
