Groupe Rocher Speeds Up R&D with Virtual Twins

Partnering with Dassault Systèmes, Groupe Rocher aims to slash product development time by 20% using AI-driven simulation and virtual twin technology.

Groupe Rocher, a global pioneer in botanical beauty, has launched a strategic partnership with technology leader Dassault Systèmes to elevate its Research and Development (R&D) capabilities. Announced on May 12, 2026, this collaboration utilizes virtual twin technology to predict how active ingredients interact with the skin, allowing high-performance, natural formulas to reach the market in record time.

20% Reduction in Lab Trials via Virtual Twins and AI

The traditional path to a perfect formula, which typically requires an average of 30 laboratory tests, is being digitalized through Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform. By blending generative AI with chemical modeling, this system reduces the number of physical trials by 20 percent, maximizing operational efficiency.

The core advantages of this technology include:

  • Rapid Penetration Analysis: Skin absorption (penetration) of active ingredients is simulated before physical testing begins.

  • Predictive Framework: 200 expert scientists receive real-time data to guide botanical extraction and formulation processes.

  • Faster Time-to-Market: Shortened development cycles ensure that innovative products reach consumers much sooner.

First Focus: The "Ice Plant" and Lift Pro Collagène

The initial phase of the collaboration focuses on the Ice Plant, known for its extraordinary ability to adapt to extreme conditions. This ingredient, central to Yves Rocher’s iconic Lift Pro Collagène anti-aging line, will be optimized with peak scientific accuracy using virtual twins before the partnership expands to other botanical actives.

"Innovating Smarter, Not Just Faster"

Véronique Schwartz-Boishu, Scientific Director at Groupe Rocher, highlighted the impact of this digital transformation:

Dassault Systèmes' expertise in virtual twins and AI will allow us to better predict the performance of our active ingredients. This enables us to develop increasingly effective and natural formulas in a much shorter timeframe.

Elisa Prisner, Executive Vice President at Dassault Systèmes, noted that in a market with conscious consumers and tight margins, companies must innovate "smarter." She emphasized that these science-based twins provide a scalable innovation engine within a secure cloud environment.
