Abdi İbrahim Expands European Footprint into North Macedonia

Maintaining market leadership in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector for 24 consecutive years, Abdi İbrahim has officially launched its commercial operations in North Macedonia. Unveiled at a corporate launch in Skopje, the 114-year-old pharmaceutical enterprise enters the market with a specialized portfolio focused across five core therapeutic areas: respiratory, central nervous system, cardiovascular, pain management, and consumer health (OTC).

Currently operating direct organizations across 21 countries, distributing pharmaceuticals to more than 70 markets worldwide, and employing nearly 6,000 professionals, Abdi İbrahim continues its strategic global expansion. Beyond its advanced manufacturing, R&D, and biotechnology complexes in Turkey, the company runs international manufacturing hubs in Kazakhstan (24 million units annual capacity) and Algeria (51 million units annual capacity).

Commencing activities with a dedicated in-country team in Skopje, Abdi İbrahim hosted local healthcare professionals, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders to introduce its regional healthcare roadmap.

Five Targeted Therapeutic Categories

Addressing local disease burdens and medication access, the North Macedonian operational pipeline prioritizes:

  • Respiratory Care

  • Central Nervous System (CNS)

  • Cardiovascular Diseases

  • Pain Management

  • Consumer Healthcare (OTC)

The company's commercial execution is structured around four primary objectives: expanding patient access to essential and advanced treatment options, deepening clinical partnerships with local institutions, tailoring product portfolios to specific demographic needs, and deploying high-integrity pharmaceutical distribution networks supported by continuous medical education programs.
