## Content

Chinese petrochemical producer **Hengyi Petrochemical** announced on August 10 plans to construct a 400,000-tonne annual capacity polyamide 6 (PA6) melt direct spinning project. Executed through its wholly owned subsidiaries Guangxi Hengyi New Materials and Hangzhou Yizhijin New Materials, the initiative represents a total investment of **RMB 4.87 billion**.

Financed through self-owned and raised funds, the project was unanimously approved by the company's Board of Directors.

### **Production Mix and In-House Direct Spinning Technology**

With a 18-month construction timeline, the project's product portfolio comprises **220,000 tonnes of fully drawn yarn (FDY)** and **180,000 tonnes of draw textured yarn (DTY)** per year.

The facilities will deploy Hengyi Petrochemical's self-developed PA6 melt direct spinning process. By integrating traditional polymerization and spinning operations into a single continuous process, the technology reduces energy consumption, raw material loss, and water usage while minimizing site footprint and capital expenditure.

### **Subsidiary Infrastructure and Regulatory Roadmap**

Guangxi Hengyi New Materials currently operates a 600,000-tonne annual PA6 chip production base, maintaining high capacity utilization throughout 2026. Hangzhou Yizhijin New Materials was incorporated in March 2026 to focus on synthetic and high-performance fibers.

While approved at the board level, implementation remains subject to standard regulatory filings, including environmental impact assessments and energy efficiency evaluations.
