# AURAN Cosmetics Hosts Olfactive Chemistry Workshop for 250 Students

> Personal fragrance manufacturer AURAN Cosmetics hosted 250 students at a hands-on workshop titled "Smells Like Math: Fragrance Design with Ratios and Fractions," held during the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festival in the İkizce district of Ordu. Merging applied mathematics with essential oil chemistry, the workshop guided participants through the formulation of personal perfumes using fractional blending techniques.

Organized by the İkizce District Directorate of National Education between October 8–10, 2026, the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festival aimed to expand access to STEM learning for students in rural communities. AURAN Cosmetics participated by designing an interactive educational session translating abstract mathematical ratios into olfactive chemistry.

During the sessions, 250 secondary school participants calculated fractional volumes of essential oils, analyzing top, heart, and base notes to create balanced formulations. The program provided practical insight into the scientific, formulation, and manufacturing stages of the cosmetic industry.

During the closing events, institutional gift selections were presented to the Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler; Ordu Provincial Director of National Education, Mehmet Fatih Vargeloğlu; and İkizce District Chief of Police, İsa Serdar.
